Unpressured Waters In A Remarkable Setting.

Fly Fish The Big Wind River

Big Wind Float Trips & Fly Fishing is also offering guided fly fishing trips on the Upper Big Wind River. BWFT is an extension of Wind River Canyon Whitewater & Fly Fishing, who has been offering guided fly fishing trips on the Upper Big Wind River since 1994.

Even though BWFT is a new extension of WRCW&F, it is safe to say with more than 26 years of experience on this river, and we know this river like no one else!

With (5) Separate Sections
Section #1: Rez line to Dinwoody
Section #2: Dinwoody to Lenore
Section #3: Lenore to Sand Draw
Section #4: Sand Draw to Diversion
Section #5: Diversion to Swinging Bridge

We have plenty of water to choose from in search of Brown, Rainbow, Cutthroat, Cutt-Bow, and Whitefish who inhabit this beautiful one of a kind river.

The Upper Big Wind is a classic freestone stream, and that means we are likely to see all age classes/sizes of fish on our excursions. One minute you may have an 18 inch Snake River Cutthroat delicately sip your hopper, only to be followed by a wild 12 inch Rainbow leaping all around, then maybe the next eat is a 22 inch Brown smashing the hopper!

Or perhaps, your trip is during streamer season, and we go with the “chuck and duck” just throwing the big ugly bugs and hoping for that fish of a lifetime! As an angler, you know that the beauty of freestone rivers is the “mystery around the bend,” and this one has all the bends you could ask for!

(3) Different Trips To Maximize Your Fishing Experience.

Full-Day (8 Hours)
Spend the day on the river, casting in the morning to the shadows with big dry fly patterns, anchor up on a rising fish and see if you can match what tiny dry pattern will work, or find yourself throwing streamers in the large deep pools and on the riffle/drop-offs hoping to get an aggressive strike! Enjoy lunch on the river, and finish the day by casting into the evening hoping for one more fish…
